Resumo: |
Collaboration is a systems theory premise that underpins the theory of networks. However, there is not a generic model yet that can explain the relation between collaboration and productivity in work teams. This study correlates network metrics to innovation performance in patents from Sinopec Limited, Royal Dutch Shell, British Petroleum, and Total S.A. The results found collaboration had a significant impact on the patents obtained in most networks; the metrics used were centrality and exogenous. Although the models presented here are limited to the companies studied, they demonstrate statistically significant results that explain productivity in patents, confirming the study hypotheses and providing a foundation for future research |
