Resumo: The study of player typology has an important role in game production, regarding behavior motivation, preferences, mechanics, genres and narratives. For this, there are several typology models proposed, each with its own premise and objectives. With the intention to synthesize such knowledge for practical application in the development process, a literature review was conducted, making it possible to identify the evolution of the study. Starting with anthropology that classifies ludic activity and its sociological role, and moving on to the digital and commercial era of video games, where interest becomes related to player behavior and sources of fun. Currently, the state of the art incorporates knowledge from demographics alongside methods from psychology to assess personality traits and cognition, enabling greater depth in target audience analysis. The digital games medium allows for a wide variety of content, so there is no universal model that addresses all needs. Thus, this volume is structured in a systematic and standardized approach, aiming to facilitate the consultation of topics independently, highlighting the main characteristics and overlap between the tools, through the perspective of game design that creates experiences for its players, the users, resulting in the analysis of user experience (UX
