This thesis is composed of three studies that focused on the teaching of Behavior Analysis (BA) in Brazil. Study 1, published in RBTCC, aimed to analyze works that mapped misunderstandings about BA reproduced in different media and strategies used to overcome them. Study 2 consists of a review of the national literature on the procedures used to teach BA, an analysis of the training offered, and the reports about the experiences of teachers and monitors of BA about teaching. Study 3 aimed to produce empirical data on the teaching of BA in Psychology undergraduate courses in Brazil based on the responses of teachers of BA to an electronic questionnaire that included, among other things, the academic training of the teacher, the procedures used for teaching and institutional characteristics. Taken together, the data from the three studies highlighted difficulties in teaching BA such as the persistence of misunderstandings about the area, institutional contingencies, limited coverage of the content offered in academic disciplines and little use of behavioral procedures for teaching. Greater dissemination of teaching strategies that produce good results is suggested as well as the development of more studies that evaluate the use of behavioral principles in teaching, respecting institutional characteristics |
