Resumo: |
This research presents the results of the research about the experiences of the elderly who are included in the Family Health Program by analyzing what they think about their experiences in old age, in the personal and social aspects. It was used the qualitative approach, through interviews with sixteen elderly, participating in a group of integral health and which are inserted in the Family Health Program of Várzea Grande. The instruments for data collection consisted of a semi-structured interview, containing thematic issues related to the aims of the research, in order to understand how the elderly experience the old in their daily lives. Data analysis was thus based on the categorization of statements, comprising: the meaning of the old age, the relationship with the family and the community, the health and services offered in the community. The results indicate that the experiences of the elderly are characterized as processes of rupture and reconstruction, which are developed according to their individual and collective capacities. By knowing the universe of the elderly, it was possible to identify some aspects of daily practice, and their ideas about the meaning of life. Research on the topic aging and their experience showed that it is necessary to expand the health services, especially those in the Health Care Unity, and the networks of formal and informal services to meet the demands of this population segment with quality |
