Resumo: |
This research aimed to investigate the theoretical foundations of Jungian couple psychotherapy as well as the practices involved. The study was based on an extensive review of articles, dissertations, and theses selected from academic repositories and specialized publications. Clinical studies specifically involving couples were selected, considered essential for fostering new approaches. Data analysis was structured into three thematic groups: (1) Marital Conflicts; (2) Analytical Psychology in Clinical Practice; and (3) Couple Individuation. All materials reviewed converged on the premise of understanding marital conflicts. The results indicate that couples seeking Jungian therapy face issues related to parenting, desire for parenting, extramarital relationships, and communication problems. The studies analysed show that the application of Jungian concepts, such as projection, shadow, persona, anima/animus, and individuation, enables couples to address conflicts, fostering both individual development and the strengthening of the marital relationship. Furthermore, all works highlight the individuation process as a central goal for couples, and couple therapy proved to be a conducive environment for this psychological development. In conclusion, Jungian concepts prove valuable for couple therapy, making it essential to expand the theoretical and practical development of Jungian couple therapy, especially in light of cultural contexts and contemporary relationships, encouraging further research on the diversity of modern romantic relationships from a Jungian perspective |
