Resumo: The aim of this study is a critical debate on the subjective and structural dimension of violence in the domestic sphere concerning violation of rights against children. This research was developed in Vila Teresinha, neighbourhood of Brasilândia, in the northern outskirts of the City of São Paulo. For one year and a half, there were sets of conversations with women that are mothers and that had been identified as the main home aggressors of children. Reporting domestic violence situations against children, these women-mothers talk about humiliation, fear and loneliness processes caused by their own and their son's and daughter's relationships with school, as well as with their urban space and their living conditions, together with those places where social exchanges take place - the individualizing criminalisation of social problems which are expressed in violence in the domestic sphere, as a response related to the other remaining violations of rights and the silencing of women and children
