Resumo: The objective of this investigation is to track the trajectory, proposals and struggles of Meta von Salis-Marschlins (1855-1929). Usually this Swiss intellectual is reduced to Nietzsche's friend and correspondent, although it stands out in her trajectory, this aspect covers her protagonism as an active intellectual in various topics such as the ones related tho women and the aristocracy. Putting her friendship with Nietzsche behind, this thesis proposes the characterization of this protagonist as an intellectual, showcasing the main aspects of her ideas, ideas that she spread along with strategies used to actuate on Male dominated areas, like colleges and press. This dissertation embodies plenty of documentation, collected through search on Swiss archives, with certain originality on Brazil, it allows the articulation of key aspects of her work as well as the recovery and analysis of her college formation, phase where she was more active on the Women movement and the von Salis’ sociability network. Emphasis is given to the writings between 1884 and 1897, period delimited by the intellectual herself in her most famous book, "Philosopher and nobleman: a contribution to characterize Friedrich Nietzsche" from 1897. Born into an aristocratic family and active member on the fight for political and civil rights of women, acting on Swiss Women Association, Meta von Salis wrote several papers, manifesting her stance on Switzerland and abroad. She wrote poems, aphorisms, biographical contributions and a novel, alongside translations and other texts. Was a pioneer when claiming the women rights and by studying on University of Zurique (1883-1887), being one of the first women with a Philosophiae doctor (PhD) title by the University of Philosophy and, by that, being considered the "first female historian in the country". On the context of filling historical gaps, this dissertation focus on the writing work of Meta von Salis, highlighting her ideals, marked by the guiding lights of "being a woman" and "being aristocrat", and recognizing that a lot of women intellectuals shared the same space as the considered "great man"
