Resumo: The investigation of the representations of oldness presents almost future educators graduated the last period Pedagogy Course constitutes the central objective these thesis presented here and that if it finds divided in THREE CHAPTERS. The First Chapter MODERN SOCIETY AND OLDNESS explored the question of the oldness in the modern society. For in such a way, in the support them in authors who, already renowned, they had contributed for the composition this theme. In this part, it recoup some of the conceptions and representations related to the oldness, besides in the direction of to explore the influence of the means communications and the education, among other things, in the formation them disposals socially established on the process of aging and the oldness. Despite of synthetic form, it presents, also, some directed public politics, in Brazil, for the aged population. In the Second Chapter EDUCATION, OLDNESS AND SOCIETY it approaches some of the interfaces between the oldness for the education; inter faces mediated for the society and culture. The importance of the education for the promotion of one reform of thought (Morin-2004) on oldness and the aging process is the central focus this part; it constructed from dialogue with thinkers, researchers and specialists in education. Concluding, that the exact knowledge in the conventional education is favorable about to the field of study to overcome or/and to belittle the stigmas and prejudices that surround the oldness, at our time and society. The Third Chapter was reserved to the field research; it regards the objectives, the methodological boarding (qualitative), the proceedings make useful for the collection of data and the analysis of same ones
