Resumo: |
The goal of this research was to investigate the role of political competence in the career self-management process using mixed methods for data analysis. The results confirm that the literature on career self-management, especially that produced in Brazil, is still more concentrated in traditional models, opening opportunities for new scientific publications, more focused on decentralized management models and offering answers for contemporary careers, developed in volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environments. Among the practical implications, the insights obtained favor a multidisciplinary approach to the career, contributing to a greater understanding of the work environment, regardless of the type of relationship with the organizations. Although it approaches the career from the point of view of self-management, the research findings contribute to favor the interdependence relationships between the different social actors involved in the work, through the exercise of political competence as a way of transforming potentially negative situations into positive ones. The originality of this research is related to the proposal of a new model of career self-management that includes political competence in the professionals performance, with and without a management position, in addition to including professionals without a management position in the debate on the organizational political arena. This research contributes and provides new knowledge for the specialized literature and for professionals interested in career interventions |
