Resumo: |
The aim of this study is to investigate the pedagogical practices developed by teachers through the use of laptops in the classroom, understand how they integrate the equipment to everyday school and which pedagogical practices come up from the use of the laptop. The research shows, through data generated at school site, the way in which the project was implemented and its influences in the use on teachers pedagogical practice. The research also investigates teacher´s domain of laptop resources and its integration in the classroom activities, and, at last, the challenges faced by the project Um Computador Por Aluno - UCA (One Computer Per Student). The thesis takes a shot, which comes from the daily school life, with an special emphasis in the pedagogical practices. The research had as subjects six teachers from an elementary school in the state of Ceará. Field instruments comprised of surveys, field journals, checklists, and interviews. Research was based on the grounded theory by Strauss and Corbin (2008), and data analysis was based on the microanalysis technique. The recurrent situations that appeared and were labeled in congruent axis are grouped in three categories. The thesis is divided in four chapters. The first shows the theoretical foundations about the use of technology, particularly laptops in schools and reviews studies conducted in Brazil and other countries. The second chapter presents theoretical questions regarding the pedagogical practice, directing it towards two ideas: curriculum and teacher professional development. In the third chapter, the methodological path trailed by the research is highlighted, grounded by a qualitative approach. Results are presented in light of theoretical references and such information contribute to the development of perspectives and understanding of new pedagogical practices coming from the use of the laptop. As results, there are aspects about the implementation of laptop at school and the changes in the pedagogical practices in the classroom. With the use of the laptop, teachers work with mistakes in a constructive way, viewing it as a part of the learning process. The research shows that, in some situations, the use of the laptop benefits the teacher-student relationship as well as the teacher shows a construction when it comes to their autonomy and confidence in the activities. However, in order to exist this laptop integration in the classroom, it's necessary that the activities bring up students curiosity and motivation. In addition to the changes in the classroom methodology, aspects such as the time available, technical and infrastructure difficulties, pedagogical difficulties, and poor internet connection must be considered. Another results is the social credibility of teachers in betting that, by using laptops in the classroom, there will be changes in the adult lives of their students |
