O “inquieto balanço” do cotidiano profissional de assistentes sociais na Defensoria Pública do Estado de São Paulo na conjuntura da pandemia da COVID-19

Resumo: The present dissertation is a valuable result of research carried out on the restless professional daily life of Social Workers at the Defensoria Paulista in the context of COVID-19, the first major pandemic in the 21st century. Arriving at the design of this objective and the object of the present research was challenging and, in a synthetic way, the research was guided to investigate if there were changes in the professional routine and also in the work tools of the Social Workers who work in the Public Defender's Office, in the period pandemic of COVID-19, as well as apprehend and analyze the effects of this pandemic situation, including remote work, on the professional direction of Social Work in this institution. The present research is justified, in the sense that the beginning of action in the year 2010 in the socio-legal area of the qualified technical staff of the Multidisciplinary Service Center (CAM) at DPESP and with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic situation declared by the Organization World Health Organization, on March 11, 2020, the present study is based on understanding how this circumstance affects the daily aspect of Social Workers in the Public Defender's Office of São Paulo in their professional, family, social, personal, cultural, political, etc. dynamics. It was based on using it as a theoretical-methodological foundation, guided by a critical perspective, using reflections and organization on the subject based on Heller (2016) and followed by Martinelli (2011), among others. As a form of investigation, a questionnaire with 24 closed questions was sent by email, some with only one option to mark and others with more than one, and 2 open questions, to the universe of 60 Social Workers of the Defensoria Paulista. The answers to these questions are explored throughout the chapters of this dissertation and are also analyzed in chapter four in particular. From the research, it was noticed that the pandemic situation of COVID-19 greatly interfered in the professional daily life of Social Workers in the Defensoria Paulista, however, creatively, a rearticulation found by the category in search of virtual meetings in the CAMs occurred on their own initiative. Working Groups (WGs) and also in the construction of the Anti-Racist Collective, contributing, too much, to the fabric of a reflective praxis. Daily life has in its intimate characteristic of being restless and always balances with our being, and has, in Social Work, a dialectic that moves its reality in this pandemic daily life in the institution
