The presente study made an analyse of the Cordel literature in a religion context to discuss the popular religion. Getting the digital collection from Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa, getting attention in the production from the popular poets Minelvino Francisco Silva and Rodolfo Coelho Cavalcante, who lived in litoraneas areas in Bahia states in South of the state from ther paper the northeast. Understanding the Cordel literature as a documentary of myth and rite from Brazilian rural world, as Idelette Muzart-Fonseca dos Santos, who made part of edge culture, concept made by Jerusa Pires Ferreira, who was investigated by the formation of the catholicism in Brazil to understand the Strong presence of Maria in this kind of literature, once the object of the study were the papers which had the prayers of marianas as the principal character. In dialogue with the catholicism concept rustic tradicional, from Alexandre Otten, conclude that there’s a popular rustic backcountry, with practice of religion necessities of contryback from Maria and practices and necessities of religion of country side northeasterner which were published in the papers of the poets analyzed |
