Resumo: Objective: To propose a review of auditory skills and speech perception and production, which took into account individual characteristics of children using hearing aids in the first years of life. Aimed at analyzing at intervals of predetermined time evolution of auditory perception skills and speech production, individual characteristics and family involvement, and organized a set of procedures used in cases established to provide parameters for considering expected behaviors: sensory motor development , audibility and listening experience. And thus investigate the applicability of the proposed by comparative analysis of expected and observed in children with hearing aids in the first years of life answers. Method: Participants were 17 deaf children diagnosed before six months of life and ages from seven to 57 months. Ethics Protocol / PUC-SP Committee No 330/2009. The study was conducted at the Center Hearing in Children (CeAC). The following procedures were used: analyzing the charts of subjects; checking of hearing aids, daily use of appliances Personal Sound Amplification (HA) - datalogging, Index values intelligibility Speech - SII (65dBSPL); IT-MAIS; LittlEars; MUSS, Category Language; characterization of the social demographic of families, assessment of function and Semiotics script situations established to assess profile: development of auditory perception skills and speech production. Results: The questionnaire used in this study, as well as the script of auditory behavior proved to be effective to evaluate and monitor the evolution points to the development of communicative skills. Regarding the results of auditory skills in groups, we observed that LittlEARS, as opposed to IT-MAIS, was more sensitive in detecting difficulties of the subjects, as there are further elaboration of the aspects of auditory skills that are involved in the everyday and the joke children. Scale IT-MOST tends to be more widespread in these respects. As for language skills, the MUSS questionnaire proved relevant to assessing children over the age of approximately 20 months of age, as well as the categories of language. In cases of discrepancy between observed and expected auditory responses, also other factors that contributed to unexpected responses were identified. Conclusion: They are necessary routines of audiologic with validation procedures individualized for each child, so that the amplification adjustments are made when necessary and the individual treatment plan is redefined every stage of child development
