Resumo: |
This thesis aims to develop a new conceptual model of governance for cities that enhances sustainable development. Today, more than half of the global population lives in cities, which requires governments to implement the instruments that can meet citizens' needs, based on strengthening democracy and sustainability. The theoretical support of the research is based on the theory of governance, bringing out a theoretical framework that bases the theme of participation in the processes of formation of public policies. In addition, extensive research was carried out on the subject of research: sustainable cities. The study is justified by its scientific importance and contributions to the administration. The method is based on qualitative analysis through case studies using as collection strategies the documentary analysis, interviews and observation. Therefore, a theoretical review, semi-structured interviews with a diverse group of respondents was carried out in the cities of Copenhagen, Amsterdam, London, Hamburg and Barcelona. In addition, a direct field observation, photographic script and analysis of primary and secondary data were carried out using Nvivo9 software for triangulation. The main results of this research to be presented are: i) a direct and positive relation between collaborative governance and sustainable cities; Ii) collaborative governance can be evidenced on the basis on two categories: good governance and mechanisms and instruments |
