Resumo: Palliative Care in Brazil presents nowadays as an object of discussion, establishment of protocols and organization of different actions with the goal to make it more and more effective. Home care in health issue constitutes as an alternative of care for different populations and with a variety of objectives, as it represents one of the most developing Brazilian Health Politic strategies in the present moment. The link of palliative care and the home care constitutes the central focus of this work, with the aim of understanding how effective is such practice and how the family organizes to assume the referred attention. The methodology used is the Oral History whose focus is centered in the subject and in his/her experience, reported to the investigator. Seven subjects were interviewed: daughters that took care of their parents, in advanced stage of disease, care that was extended until the death in their respective home. The lived experience was reported with the intention of understand how the constructing processes of social family caregiver role are developed and its disconstruction through the patient s death, with death as a background and as a transition mark within the processes
