Resumo: Procurement 4.0 is considered a revolution in electronic hiring. Data analysis, artificial intelligence, robotics, IoT are the prime examples of future technology implementations in the area of Procurement. This study addresses the Revolution 4.0 and its digital technologies and their impacts on digital business transformation, as well as supply chain digitization and corporate purchasing. We present an approach to the structure of a procurement area and its challenges, relationship between buyers and suppliers, environmental and social aspects, as well as models and theoretical frameworks of some authors talking about the future of a Procurement area 4.0. The objective of this work was to analyze the positioning of a procurement area facing these changes in technologies and digital transformation. It was possible to address a research about the impacts of Industry 4.0 in the purchasing area in Brazil in relation to global studies, the possible barriers to the digitization of purchases and ways to overcome them, and the possible tools and technologies that can leverage these digital processes. Throughout this research it was also possible to address also the aspect of procurement professionals working with this new technology scenario, some of the tools currently used in the companies procurement area and the short, medium and long term investment vision. Finally, a proposal was made that the procurement area should undergo changes in several aspects, probably in 10 dimensions presented in this study. It was also possible to address the challenges at the interface between buyer and suppliers focused on sustainability, sometimes focused on innovation, the most automated purchasing activities, as well as Proposal for a Procurement 4.0 (Procurement 4.0)
