This research aims at investigating and analysing the teachers´pedagogical practice in undergraduate courses, the ones that make use of the modality of 20% of distance education activities in the curricular design, investigating also the teaching activities in the teaching-learning process. Due to the recent development of distance education, mainly in higher education, deliberated by Portaria 4059, in December 2004, which regulates this possibility, the work of teachers is emphasized, pointing out to the necessity of getting prepared to use the sincronous and assincronous tools in the teaching-learning process. The teacher formation courses for the ones who will be working in virtual learning environments, distance and semi-distance courses, should thus emphasize the development of competences to use the new technological resources, available in the educational institutions, which promote the interaction between teacher-student, student-student and student-learning. To build up this new teaching-learning modality, there is the necessity of a continuous formation and improvement of teaching practice, taking into consideration the pedagogical and technological aspects which are available in the working environment. This is an exploratory participant research carried out with the teaching staff in a high education institution, in which I worked as a teacher and a course coordinator. In a formation process which includes new technologies and teaching practice, we need to transform this practice and to make the majority of the students aware of the irreversibility of this process. More than this, we need to furnish them both competences so that they will be more selective in this building process. The analysis of the results points out to the relevance of this study to the teachinglearning process and the education of teachers, mainly the ones who work in different learning environments, according to the advance and development of distance education |
