Resumo: The present exegetical-theological study aims to research (2Co 8,8-15 and 9,6-9), in order to show that the basic principle of the gospel of Jesus (the act of giving oneself for love) must be the paradigm that Corinthians need to assimilate and practice. Furthermore, it is proposed to highlight the importance of Paul’s relationship with the church he founded in Corinth to refute his opponents, to demonstrate, through the exegetical-theological study in the communicative perspective of (2Co 8,8-15), that the contribution had as a principle of “love” and, therefore, it was used to help the poorest Christians and to prove, through the exegetical-theological study in the communicative perspective of (2Co 9,6- 9), that the contribution was voluntary and generated a recognition of God on the part of Christians. Given this, we propose the hypothesis that tithing was not the model of financial contribution practiced in the Pauline early Christianity; instead of this, the ideal model for contribution was voluntary, driven by love for the household of faith, and without pre-definition of values. Therefore, this research is based on the scholars Massimo Grilli, Maurizio Guidi and Elzbieta M. Obara, respectively on communication and pragmatics in biblical exegesis, in addition to reviewing some exegetical discussions about the texts that are the object of this study
