Resumo: This present work aims to discuss the role of Social Services in the management of digital public services in Brazil. The aim is to address the challenges and potentialities in the area of Social Service constituted in the contradictory relationship established by digital transformations in Brazilian public administration. It focuses on analyzing the digitalization of public services in Brazil, and the challenge of guaranteeing their democratic access in this context. The central hypothesis of the work is that the management of digital public services needs to be committed to meeting social and citizenship demands, and therefore, the participation of social workers in this process, with its historical particularity of defending social rights, can contribute to this purpose. In this sense, this research aims to problematize the role of Social Services in the management of digital public services in Brazil, analyzing the political, ideological, cultural and economic nature of the historical process of technological development in capitalist society. To this end, the marxist dialectical historical materialist method is used in the construction of the theoretical-methodological framework of the debate, identifying in the category of contradiction established by it, the strategic possibilities for the democratic use of digital technologies in the sphere of public administration. The work was developed through indirect documentation, based on data obtained through research from public and private bodies, about the particularities of digital transformations in Brazil, as well as the legislation that structures Digital Government policies and strategies in the country and the documents that structure the principles, duties, competencies and professional responsibilities of social workers in Brazil. The theoretical construction is divided in this research into two chapters, the first dedicated to analyzing the processes of technological development in societies, focusing on the particularities of the management of digital public services in Brazil; and the second dedicated to the role of Social Services in the management of digital public services. The absence of social workers in these spaces was noted, reflecting the management choices of digital technologies centered on technical knowledge, with commodification tendencies. Finally, the research argues that the participation of Social Work in the field of digital transformations in public administration, based on the ethical and political principles of the profession, can fundamentally contribute to the ultimate objective of realizing social rights
