Resumo: |
The contemporaneity is characterized by several changes, among all the areas of the human life, the social and the relational suffered a profound impact due to these changes, and the family followed them. Among all changes that they have been happening in the family, we elected to this survey the adult children’s view who live at a parental home, under their process of differentiation. Pursuing to understand this phenomenon, we performed some interviews in the State of São Paulo with four adults, being in the 30-40 age group and assigned into the labor market. We performed this qualitative survey based on the systemic theoretical assumptions and the differentiation, by means of the content analysis of the interviews the categories were organized to systematize and relate with the narrative of the participants. The generated knowledge demonstrated that although we are in contemporaneity, characterized by constant changes and the cult of individualism, there are still many conflicts in the relation between parents and adult children that cohabit. This is particularly so because living in the parental home does not necessarily mean obedience to the imposed family rules. However, apart from any divergence that may exist, paradoxically, the family as a place of refuge from the uncertainties of the world, the children recognize the difficulties in the development of the differentiation between their members and the gain of autonomy |
