Resumo: Law number 11.684 of June 2nd, 2008 includes Philosophy and Sociology as compulsory subjects in the secondary education CV. This decision is the ending of the discussion and struggles for including Philosophy in the Basic Education. This study deepens a fundamental aspect of the teaching-learning process in the Philosophy class, i.e., the affectionate dimension. The proposed objectives are to identify the feelings that the secondary course students of the public school show about the philosophy classes and the inciting situations of these feelings. Interviews with the students of a public Secondary Education school of São Paulo State were carried out. The data analysis was accomplished by thematic categories. The reference comes from the psychogenetic of Henri Wallon, mainly from his studies on affection and the development stages. The outcomes point to the importance of the affectionate dimension in the teaching-learning process in the Philosophy class, present the predominance of unpleasant feelings regarding the Philosophy class, and the fact that the adolescents hope to find in the Philosophy the understanding of themselves and of the world where they live
