Resumo: This work is an attempt to understand the reasons why parents decided to keep their children out from school to choose home schooling with the aim and the expectation of being able to offer them a higher quality education than that which, according to the point these parents' view, the state has offered. The same is based on the analysis of a vast bibliography in order to know and understand the causes and issues for which home education has been widely accepted in Brazil. It also analyzes the search for the implementation of this modality in Brazil after the total approval of Bill 2.401/2019, which is still pending in the National Congress. This work also uses a questionnaire, answered by families that use home schooling, in order to obtain a more accurate picture of them than the analyzed bibliography states. The methodology used was qualitative, because it does not seek to quantify, but to observe the phenomenon
