This thesis aims at analyzing the social worker s performance in the practices of social responsibility developed by the enterprises of Mato Grosso. To reach this aim we sought to establish the proper connections among the three axes that we consider of extreme importance that are: The social issue, which according to our point of view is the central element of the relation between the profession of Social Work and the reality, considering that the object of work of the social worker deals with social issues in their multiple expressions; The Social Work as a profession registered in the social and technical division of work and the social assistant in the condition of an employee that, as any other worker, has to; sell his work force to survive, The entrepreneurial social responsibility understood as a management strategy used by the enterprises that in search of social legitimization use strategies that can embody new dimensions to their businesses, in other words, the social responsibility as part of an entrepreneurial rationality to keep itself in the globalized market. So, through these axis and the individuals testimonies (managers and social workers) who develop their profession in Mato Grosso enterprises, we try to develop this study, that is, the analysis of the social worker s performance in the practices of entrepreneurial social responsibility in Mato Grosso
