Resumo: This thesis analyzes how post-modernity affects the relations of the subject, in dialogue with the fragility of human bonds so that the insecurity inspired by this condition stimulates conflicting and ambivalent postures: wills and desires of strengthening affectional bonds while letting them loose. After all, there is a growth of fear and cultural narcissism. In addition, there is an exaggerated space of individuality, leaving loneliness each day closer and closer to a subject: distressed, insecure and depressed, who fears to live and invest their time and affection in lasting relationships. The sociologist Zygmunt Bauman, in his book Liquid Love, states that "without humility and courage, there is no love" (BAUMAN, 2004, p. 22). So, how to sustain love and affectional bonds in times of such fearful and narcissistic society? The way of loving, as Bauman describes, suffers day after day; relationships are based on glory, on the need to admire and be admired, which makes them fleeting and inconsistent. Therefore, the works of this author are the main theoretical tools selected as bibliography of this Master’s degree dissertation, whose objective is to some aspects of contemporaneity
