Resumo: |
The accumulated anthropogenic influence on the planet has resulted in a new geological era, the Anthropocene. Among the recognized impacts is the 1.1ºC increase in the global average temperature compared to pre-industrial levels due to anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases. The commitments established to limit the emission of these gases and contain global warming are accompanied by policies to replace energy generation, such as the encouragement of renewable energy sources, hydroelectric, solar and wind power generations. In this article we will explore the contribution of wind power generation as a promoter of the so-called "sustainable development" based on the Brazilian case, considering its current degree of implementation, the impacts caused and the material limits to its expansion. For this, first the diagnosis of climate change portrayed by the IPCC's Sixth Report will be presented. Next, the composition and recent changes in the Brazilian and world energy and electricity matrices. Finally, the difficulties of renewable energies in the face of "sustainable development". Therefore, this article concludes that there is a double social and environmental contradiction in the expansion of renewable energies, highlighting wind power generation, towards "sustainable development", leading us to the need to rethink the great social projects for humanity |
