Resumo: Food allergy has increased its incidence in recent decades, affecting a considerable number of children. The educational context is an environment where students allergic to food spend part of their time so that the school must be properly ready to keep them safe, and also included in school activities aiming for their full development. This qualitative research aims to implement and evaluate the effectiveness and functionality of a food allergy management and awareness preventive program called GAAE - “Grupo de Ação Alergia na Escola”, based on the "School Allergy Action Group" (SAAG), which was developed in the United Kingdom. Representatives of various segments of the school community - from five municipal public schools for Kindergarten and Elementary Education of the city of Jundiaí (São Paulo state, Brazil) were invited. It was mandatory that those schools had at least three children who had food allergies, and who were selected by the responsible nutritionist. The translation and cultural adaptation of SAAG program material were both previously done. Then, the implementation was carried out through six monthly meetings with the representatives of segments of the school community, and three meetings with students, adding three modules of an asynchronous online training, and also three online and synchronous “after-class help” with all employees of the municipal education network. The research original planning had to be changed due to the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic, such that it was not possible to reapply the four evaluative instruments answered when starting the program, six months after training. The obtained results were descriptively presented, and a narrative analysis of the meetings was carried out, which showed that the program responded to the needs of the community, establishing proximal and distal changes, and also contributing to the improvement of food allergy management practices in the schools where the intervention was carried out, as well as in the collective of schools that made up the municipal public education network in the city of Jundiaí
