Resumo: |
Myrian Veras Baptista owns a very rich and plural work within the Social Work, over the sixty years dedicated to the profession. From 1992 to 2014 conducted the Center for Studies and Research on Children and Adolescents in the Postgraduate Studies Program in Social Work at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, thus contributing, for more than twenty years, to the production of knowledge about children, adolescents, young people and their families. This research approach in the area of childhood and youth through the trajectory of Myrian Veras Baptista aiming to analyse the main routes of studies and research through the theses and dissertations guided by the referred teacher, as well as the research projects developed and their productions for besides the University. The teacher's legacy to studies and research on children and adolescents is recognized, however publications and systematized data on developed research projects are scarce. It is a qualitative and quantitative research carried out in the perspective of dialectical historical materialism, based, above all, on Walter Benjamin's (1940) “Theses on the Concept of History”, therefore, we do not present a restricted chronological and linear order of events, we seek the movements and the nuances of the story. For this, we use two pillars of analysis: the rescue of history and memory through narratives and the systematization and categorization of the works developed, of the dissertations and oriented theses, thus indicating the main routes in the scope of childhood and youth in which the teacher collaborated and the possibilities of action in the present time illuminated by the past and vice versa. Regarding the pillar on the rescue of history and memory through narratives, we used thematic oral history as a methodology, where we adopted as a procedure the collection of five testimonies from subjects who were part of the teacher's trajectory, in addition to bibliographic and documentary research. Finally, we highlight the observation of four aspects prevailing in the historical rescue: The insightful vision to open up new ways to exercise your professional practice; the notoriety of discussions about adolescents in conflict with the law and the protective measure of reception in Master's dissertations and oriented doctoral theses; the strong commitment to publications as the author and editor and the defense of the theory / practice unit in the profession |
