Resumo: |
The present study sets out to produce qualified data of recent researches about behavioral interventions for the reduction of vocal and motor stereotypy on people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) was sought after. A systematic review was conducted regarding recent studies that type of intervention on ASD public published between may, 2013 and September, 2021. A highlight was given to the analysis of generalization and maintenance methodologies. A total of 24 peer reviewed articles were selected through research in the “PubMed (Medline)” and “PsycINFO” database search engines. In short, reviewed interventions presented new evidence about the variables that affect stereotyped behavior in broadly implemented procedures in this area, as DRA and RIRD, and introduced the effects of procedures that are still new to the field of stereotypy reduction. Generalization and maintenance data were scarce and there were few reports on life improvements provided by the reviewed treatments, indicating the lack of primacy for the social relevance of these studies. In conclusion, future research on behavioral intervention on stereotyped behavior of people with ASD are advisable, since they allow for a better comprehension of this phenomenon. Although, it is necessary that the applied researches that aim at stereotypy treatment aim for the social validity of their contributions |
