Resumo: |
This study aims to analyze the Brazilian trajectory of economical planning from 1956 to 1976, highlighting national developmentalism plans. The analysis was elaborated examining the following plans: Plano de Metas (1956-1961), Plano Estratégico de Desenvolvimento (1968-1970), and both the first and second Plano Nacional de Desenvolvimento, (1971 - 1973) and (1974 - 1979), respectively. Through analysis, it was concluded that the developmental economic politics were successful in both promoting economic growth and cultivating local industrialization, even if the latter was not complete. However, adopting those same economic policies compromised the country’s debt capacity and made inflation rates worse in the said period. Even with the imbalances generated at the time, the developmentalism period was an undeniable economical History highlight for Brazil and the country was not able to reach the same economic growth rhythm again |
