Resumo: |
The objective of this study is to analyse the event telling stories in English in the classroom, as an instrument for learning with a focus on the participation and interaction of the group. The collection of data for the research took place in a classroom in a state Escola de Tempo Integral State School of Integral Time, with a group of eighteen eight to nine years old children. The data were collected in the period of one semester, through video recordings, interviews and drawings made by the students. The study is based in the partner-historical-cultural perspective developed fundamentally by Vygotsky, who sees the subject as historical-socio-cultural that has in the presence of the other an important partner in the communication situation and in knowledge construction. The teaching-learning conceptions are also discussed in the theory postulated by Vygotsky (1933/2006, 1934/2005); the role of games in learning and the Zone of Proximal Development (Vygotsky, 1930/2006). The conception of language according to Bakhtin (1929/2004, 1979/2003); conceptions of foreign language teaching-learning of Kumaravadivelu (2006, 2003) and Canagarajah (2002), studies of reflexive teacher education presented by Celani (1998, 2001; 2003; 2004); and fairy stories as an interaction instrument (Applebee, 1978; Pflaum, 1986)are also foundation for the study. The results obtained reveal that the children, relying on the gender fairy story, already constituted in the first language, start to build knowledge in the foreign language. Through the analysis, the interactive movement and the participation of the members of the group can also be observed in the construction of knowledge |
