Resumo: The growth and pluralisation of Kardecism in Sao Paulo through the experiences of healing are the main object of study of this thesis. The idea of search Kardecism and their healing experiences occurred to me, first of all, because of interest in anthropological about religion, awakened in the early years of undergraduate studies in Social Sciences. But the decisive factor, or rather definitive for empirical research on Kardecism and experiences of healing was a result of my career as a member of a family which is called Catholic, and identifies with the Kardecist doctrine. The dissemination of the Spiritist ideas in Brazilian imagination, including Catholics, is demonstrated by several academic research studies on responsible about reincarnation. Living with an illness of a close relative of difficult diagnosis of traditional medicine, made me reflect on the need to seek answers about the disease process / healing out of rational explanations of modern science and especially to have witnessed some of the most renowned physicians of St. Paul simply respond that they had never seen " something " and yet not even entertain the possibility of cure by other means. The survey was conducted through a literature review, participant observation in spiritual centers focused on healing, especially in the districts of Ipiranga and São Bernardo do Campo, and semi-directive interviews with faithful, psychics, leaders, men and women, chosen by indications of believers who experienced healing experiences, seeking to highlight the plurality of instances of "cure " in Kardecism intentionally. It is noteworthy that in approximately two centuries, since the arrival of Kardecism to Brazil, mainly in the last ten years, the 2010 Census data showed an increase of 65 % in the number of adherents to Kardecism between 2000 and 2010
