Resumo: In the past years, the Physical Education was a target of great modifications, especially for having new teaching proposals. The current study has as main research focus on the new curriculum of the State of São Paulo, which was validated in 2010, and it has as purpose verify what is the conception of Physical Education from teachers of the Basic Education II of the state of São Paulo`s public schools, if they know exactly the actual SEE/SP Curriculum and if they are prepared to use it. As a methodological study, it was chosen a qualitative approach. For data collection, it was made a semi-structured interview with three Physical Education s teachers from the statewide network of São Paulo. Among the criteria for selection of participants, it s relevant: 1) to be teachers of the same Department of Education; 2) to be, at the moment of the research, teaching in Basic Education II classes; 3) that they have different functional frameworks, in other words, permanents and temporaries teachers; 4) and that they have had their admission in the public network state in different periods, before and after the period of implementation of the current SEE/SP Curriculum. The data obtained reveals that the interviewed teachers demonstrate to know what the actual SEE/SP Curriculum is about, but it indicates the existence of blanks, with regard to its use. The lack of infrastructure and suitable materials, and the ignorance and unfamiliarity of the teachers with some proposed contents are pointed by them, as justification for it. Referent to the unpreparedness of the teachers to the utilization of the materials (handouts), an important data revealed is that there wasn t any kind of orientation or formation for all teachers about the current SSE/SP Curriculum, besides the teachers that are not permanent did not receive the Teacher s books. We believe that the implementation of any curriculum modification must be followed by formative processes that reach all the practicing teachers, thus they will have favorable conditions for the acquisition and improvement of knowledge necessary for teaching. So, it becomes impracticable to think about curriculum changes when it s disregarded the function and importance of continuing education in its process implantation
