Resumo: |
Since 1990, reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change from UN state that there has been a process of global warning related to the increase in gases emission produced by human activities. According to reports, if there isn't a significant reduction in such emissions in a short and medium term, life is in danger of extinction in our planet. It's impossible to deal with environmental issues based solely on their physical and biological aspects, as the socioenvironmental problems are complex, caused by people and related to social, political, economic and cultural issues. Therefore, they require a multidisciplinary complex approach analysis. The socioenvironmental issues generated by a specific human group generate reflexes which aren't confined to national borders, but they gain global dimensions what implies sustainable strategies aimed at a sustainable global society. Being science and technology the core of rationality of means of production, now capitalist, and the main mediators between humans and natural resources, the pursuit of environmental sustainability implies a reorientation of scientific and technological policies. Aiming to assess the level of commitment of scientific and technological policies with socioenvironmental sustainability in Brazil and also assess whether there is a complex interdisciplinary perspective in strategies aimed at sustainability, it was selected as object of analysis the magazine Pesquisa FAPESP, as it is the main mean of communication of FAPESP which is the main public agency to promote researches in the state of São Paulo, the Brazilian state which alone represents more than half of all national scientific and technological production. The magazine shows aspects which are not shown in statistical database from FAPESP, as the discourse of the foundation, the fostered research that FAPESP chooses as the most notorious, and its way of communicating with scientific community as well as population in general. The magazine was analyzed qualitatively by evaluating the first ten years of its publications and four years of FAPESP News informative which precedes and it is the result of editorial changes. The analysis sought to identify whether the magazine presents researches aimed at environmental sustainability and whether they are transdisciplinary. The results verify that over the past fourteen years magazine increased the visibility of the research greatly focused on environmental sustainability, however, the importance given to studies in sustainability has occurred late and shows disjointed projects and not transdisciplinary, without political guide of ordinary project aimed at building a sustainable society |
