One of the problems pointed out by school administrators and public chain education specialists based on the observation of the school routine is the teachers abstention, which, in part (guaranteed and justified absents, medical licenses etc.) has formal register. Apparently, however, there are practices not officially registered. This study discusses and investigates these absences in classrooms (formal and informal), checking at what incidence degree this problem occurs, what the justifications of this teachers to their absences in the rooms, as well as the institutional shares used to solve these absences whit respect to the students activities. For this, made up daily systematic register of teachers absences at whole classes on a day, noting the reasons for them and the different institutional forms to supply them. Also were registered the bimonthly frequency and performance of the students, allowing from the grouping of all these data, the analysis of the possible impacts on the performance of one of the classes of primary school cycle II with 424 students, 23 holder teachers and 15 substitute teachers. The data analysis indicates that holder teachers administered only 64,4% of classes; that beyond absences legally permitted and provided with substitute teachers (15,4%), there are many classes (6,0%), which are vacancies (students without class but in school) and many classes where students are released by different situations created by the school itself (14,2%) among others more detailed data about training and experience of teachers |
