This paper is the result of an observant view, full of curiosity, about the construction of the knowledge resulting from the complex interdisciplinary relationship between Gerontology and art. Its focus is the experience of a group who enjoy culture in contact with art. The methodologies adopted include the accumulated experience and the realization of three meetings in 2007, with participants of Social Work with Seniors, organized by SESC São José dos Campos/SP. In these meetings, different actions took place, aiming at bringing the group closer to art. Moreover, a bibliographic research of the works of some theoreticians was carried out. Art contributes to the personal development of seniors, as it allows taking a plunge into the quest for the meaning of the social and existential dilemmas to which they are subjected, thus letting them know their emotions and feelings about what life is and its meaning in old age. For the seniors, the artistic experience is extremely stimulating and appropriated, as it favors the development of new relationships contributing as a result to social inclusion of these individuals
