Resumo: This research investigates the relationship with knowledge of the students of Youth and Adult Education in context of the relation between school and work market with tendency of uberization. It seeks, as a general objective, to understand the meaning that students-workers attribute to knowledge and to the contemporary labor market, which in part goes through the uberization process. The hypothesis is that the meaning of school work reduces the relationship with knowledge at the end of the schooling process for entry or ascension in the labor market and, thus, acquiring social mobility in the class system. The data collection was carried out through questionnaires and interviews based on Charlot’s theory of the relationship with the knowledge along the concepts of desire, representation and relations of knowledge, and had the participation of students in the public Youth and Adult Education at high school level in the city of São Paulo. In order to understand the current movement that transforms the way to work, Abílio and Antunes, mainly, provide the necessary history and epistemology. Regarding the panorama of the relation between school and work, Enguita, Perrenoud, Antunes and Pinto and Fagiani and Previtali are taken as references to analyze school transformations from the evolution of production and labor systems. It concludes that the form of school education has been converging with the form of autonomous work and the meaning of school knowledge is linked to the labor market in a conflicting relationship, in which there is, on the one hand, an ideal of life that means exercising knowledge at work as a form of satisfaction and, on the other hand, the external motivation linked by the concrete possibilities of social relations and representations, which makes work a desirable object that mobilizes students to seek the conclusion of high school
