Resumo: The main goal of this master s dissertation was to learn, interpret and analyze meanings based on the elaboration of a curriculum proposal for the curricular component of Physical Education in the first five years of Elementary school at São Paulo state schools. To that end, we interviewed three employees of those schools who are directly involved in the aforementioned development of the curriculum proposal: a teacher who works for that segment and two Coordinating Teachers of the Pedagogic Nucleus (Professores Coordenadores de Núcleo Pedagógico PCNP). The procedure to analyze our data underwent the core meaning elaboration, according to the Aguiar; Ozella (2013) article. The analyzed data lead us to believe that the curriculum proposal had a positive meaning for the employees involved in its development. That meaning resides in the possibility of the teachers actively taking part in the elaboration of a curriculum proposal which is likely to be used by themselves. Therefore, it is believed that the chances of this likely curriculum proposal being employed by a teacher in a classroom will be higher
