Resumo: |
This work has as object of study the initial historical tracing and in parts panoramic of the evangelical black experiences in Brazil and their political and social demands based on the specific racial debates of their own historical moments. Afro-diasporic representations of Christianity historically underlie their own hermeneutics and theologies based on contextual interpretations of the Bible, which in turn establish connections between its narratives and racialized contemporary social realities, in the case of these studies, backed between the United States and Brazil, specifically in the southeastern region of the latter. In this way, the central questions that this research proposes are: what were the concerns, questions and general propositions of black evangelicals since the advent of Protestant churches in Brazil? And in which social contexts did they occur and develop? |
