The objective of this research is to question the multicultural politic established by the Canadian government in 1971 as means of immigrant integration into the country. Moreover, it aims to discuss and analyze different consequences originating from the massive economic immigration in Quebec’s province: integration and assimilation. For this purpose, a brief historic contextualization of immigration policies and immigration in Quebec were done followed by analysis on colonialism and identity. Interviews with immigrants with different trajectories and immigration status with the objective of qualifying the research and bringing empirical evidence compose the third and final chapter of the thesis
