This paper seeks to verify that, nowadays, the synthesis of radio news conveyed in Porto Alegre city retains the features introduced by the Esso Reporter, news that remained in the air between 1941 and 1968. This will analyse the news of radios Guaíba and Gaúcha, traditionally focused on journalism, with reference to certain criteria: length, running, structure, track music, presentation, editing, text and illustration. From authors who investigate the journalism radio broadcast, the search takes the comparative method to support the execution of this text which also counts with literature review. The dissertation also aims to make a reflection on the path that follows the model of radio news in brazil, starting from the viewpoint of issuing the capital of the Rio Grande do Sul.
