It is in a context full of adversities, like the several diseases that attacked the people in the end of the 19th century and the early 20th, with a frequent lack of scientific resources that the medical science, beginning still, couldn’t achieve, that appeared a variety of forms of “arts of the cure”, like the “agents of the “agents of the cure”. The popular medicines, promising “to cure any disease” are a part of this context. These medicines moved around in innumerous places, from bigger cities to the small ones, like Bom Jesus/RS. Through these remedies came together as much theories of this time as others more traditional: like humoral medicine.
