Resumo: This work aims identify and get a better comprehension concerning to the Corporate Social Responsibility motivators in private companies. As a theoretical base to this study a literature revision was done and it was realized that the subject is multidisciplinary and with concepts still in construction. In this theoretic base, several reasons were identified as possible motives referring to companies social behaviours. In order to investigate what motivators would be identified in business environment a research was made, covered a study with a company and interviews with experts in social area with knowing business environment; in both cases qualitative research utilized. In order to get a better understanding of the environment, besides the identify the motivators, the context of several aspects concerning Corporate Social Responsabilities were observed. Based on results of study with the company, works with the experts and literature review, motivators classification was made following Bardin(2006) categorization by classes. After that, a triangulation analysis was accomplished. As conclusion, some misunderstandings in concepts comprehension were observed. Referring to motivators, most of them appeared in literature and business environment, but a few motivators are identified in literature and not in business environment and vice-versa. The motivators Vanity, Guilt and Profits didn’t identify in the study; in the other way the motivators Public Security, Legislation and Manager Personal Trauma didn’t find in literature. Categories mentioned in the study and mentioned in literature were: Strategy, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal Advantages, Ethical/Religious Values and External Pressure. Theoretical and managerial implications as well the study limitations and suggestions to other ways to future studies were also discussed.
