The question about evil became a continual restlessness through out Augustine’s life. His thought is characterized by so many influences, above all the Manichaean and Neoplatonic doctrines. However, the answers offered by such philosophies didn’t fulfill the Hipponensis restless mind. The attempt to answer this question occur later in his life, in On Free Choice of the Will, book in which Augustine tries to face, with Evodius, the moral evil origin question, connecting it to human will. In this master dissertation, we aim to show how the Hippo bishop tries to free God from being the evil creator, reasoning that the cause of evil presence in the world comes from free will misuse, inasmuch as taking it by itself, this will attribute is a good and a gift from Creator to men.
