Resumo:	The goal of this study is to investigate and analyze the represented space and its features as well as examine the possible relation of the poet Ivo Machado to the area represented in selected poems from the books Os limos do verbo (2005), Quilómetro zero (2007) and Tamujal (2009 ). As theoretical support it will be used Espaço e textualidade: quatro estudos quase-semióticos, by Dino del Pino, where the specificity of space, that is, the symbolic space, stands out for being the final phase of the text as a unit resulting from the arrangement of forms imposed in the discursive space.
