This research problematizes the way in which the public services deal with sexual diversity. To achieve such goal we decided to develop our research on the Brazilian Social Assistance Policy (SUAS). Therefore, we aim on contributing to the analysis of its current implementation, as the right to free sexual orientation is part of the right to social equality. Respect for sexual diversity is an important step towards the achievement of autonomy and democracy, as well as to the overcoming of the degradation of the other. The results found may enlarge the visibility of the themes here discussed, denaturalizing the norm of heterosexuality, which is opposed to the fight for a world where sexual diversity is truly recognized. This is fundamental to the realization of the political project proposed by the Social Work, which is committed to the fight against discrimination and violation of rights.
