Resumo: This study it had as objective to verify some questions on the development of the baby with visual deficiency and its attendance in early intervention. The feelings and the mother's relationship to the baby also took a privileged part in this research, due to the important role that they play during the process of the child's development. For the accomplishment of this inquiry, it was opted to the qualitative research, involving case study, for which seven mothers of visual deficient children and three professionals enabled to the work had been interviewed. The analysis of the interviewed' speech was made based on the directed methodology to this end, in which the testimonials were organized in categories and sub-categories. The interrelation of collected data, made possible through qualitative textual analysis, allowed the matching with the theoretical basis, confirming some questions presented by the researched authors. Conclusion presents answers to the directing questions, defined at the beginning of this research, and ends up with some suggestions to the improvement of the intervention's work offered to the population. We hope the results of this research may definitely contribute to the improvement of the impaired babies' quality of life, as well as their families', trough the possible use of these studies in planning the early intervention services.
