To achieve this study were used bibliometric techniques, sociometric and literature, and content analysis. We surveyed all publications, 200 international articles published since 1994 that deal with the subject, which were analyzed by bibliometrics and sociometry, whose main findings show that international production has low centrality. They were then thoroughly analyzed the 37 most significant international articles with regard to their theoretical and methodological emphasis and found that these articles International use several models, designs, frameworks and maps as obtained from tests or theoretical that were derived from other studies or own design that were used for empirical studies, but the model Diamond Porter was the strongest influence on these works. Also found that the elements of the functional areas of management, strategy and marketing, and emphasis on economic aspects at the expense of social, environmental and technological form the main emphases of the approaches studied. In national publications in Brazil and Portugal were only identified only 16 studies that have not demonstrated a referral guideline. As a research agenda, from the state of the art has studied the environment of the destination was the most prominent, both in economic analysis of stakeholder, competitive networks, quality of products and services, information, resources, and the implementation management and evaluation through the use of indices or indicators, while the external environment to the destination was more focused on the analytical dimension, involving more elements of marketing and strategy, in relation to the tourist, the location of the issuer tourism and macroenvironment. |
