Resumo: Data from the PMI PULSE 2019 survey showed that organizations waste 12% of their investment due to the poor performance of their projects. So, identifying the relationship between the emotional intelligence of the project manager and the conflicts of relationship, communication as well as trust and its impacts on the success of projects contributes to the improvement of this scenario. Thus, understanding how much emotional intelligence influences the success of projects and also identifying the influence of mediating constructs, such as managing relationship conflicts, managing communication and establishing trust, will bring benefits to project management in practice. To support this understanding, a quantitative research based on validated questionnaires will be carried out, identifying how much the level of emotional intelligence of the project team influences the management of personal conflicts within a project team, in addition to increasing the trust and communication of its members, and also assess its impact on the success of the projects. The data will be collected through questionnaires that are already valid, and the adaptation of this questionnaire to the Portuguese language will also be the objective of this work, the collections will be extensive and targeted, using electronic means such as google forms directed to smartphones. The data sheets were validated, adjusted and evaluated by confirmatory factor analysis with the support of smartPLS software to verify the influence of variables on the success of the project, and to evaluate the mediation, a bootstrapping technique will be used through the macro process within the SPSS software of IBM, to verify mediation strength. The results showed that emotional intelligence influences the success of the project, as well as previously described in the theory, emotional intelligence also influences the management of relationship conflicts, management of communication and establishment of trust. The research also confirms that the constructs that represent managerial actions in team management, are relationship conflict management, communication management and trust building, influence the success of projects, thus being a manager who neglect these management activities to a lesser extent. probability of success. As the most notable contribution of this research, we have confirmation that part of the complex relationship between emotional intelligence and project success is mediated by managerial actions, team management, relationship management, communication management and trust building, so this research collaborates with the theory improving the explanation of this relationship. Despite allowing generalization, the data described here refer to the sample described in the results found in this research, that is, other similar research may contribute with more data to compose a more varied sample and therefore allow a broader generalization, and the research will be applied within the Brazilian project scenario, thus leaving its conclusions limited to this scenario.
