The new global trends highlight the importance of the theme of sustainability in organizations in terms of image, return on revenue and win new customers. A major challenge is to understand how to apply sustainable principles in the management of their projects. This paper aims to describe and analyze how the principles of sustainability contribute to the performance of project management in an organization. This exploratory and descriptive qualitative character as a case study has two projects of Siemens Brazil. The research was developed from data collected from literature, field research like participant observation, and the consolidation of the results obtained through interviews and workshops for implementation of sustainable principles in case studies. The main results of this research show that it is feasible to implement sustainable principles in project management in organizations. And their contributions to the performance of the projects are strongly observed in stakeholder management, risk management and identifying opportunities. The relevance of this study is to help organizations and managers in improving project management considering sustainable principles. It is emphasized that the applicability of the practice in sustainable management of projects depends on the maturity and organizational culture on project management and sustainability. |
