Resumo: Currently, there is much discussed on the humanistic education of the physician. This professional path passed to be considered of great importance, mainly because of the great technological and social advances of today. In that context it is this research that showed recognize and demonstrate that the Museum of Medicine of USP, founded in 1977, is a privileged access to the medical culture, fostering the necessary articulation between past, present and future of this profession. For that we made the documentary study what's in the Museum, aiming to raise given in search of knowledge of their educational activities, aiming to present and discuss "is the contribution of the collection of the Historical Museum Carlos da Silva Lacaz as forming the medical area learning environment?". In this way, we seek to conduct a study of the records of the Museum, with the aim of lifting documentary for the Museum about the educational action logs, checking what are the mechanisms for the dissemination of this site of learning and how it is being used and reported by various traces of the FMUSP, to have us an understanding of the museum educational processes of this institution. Methodological research strategies outline is in the frames of the qualitative research, having as reference principles which are based on the idea that social subjects are reflective beings, who (res) mean their experiences, actions and positions in various contexts we which act. The work is divided into four chapters. In chapter I the history of medicine is seen in its global and national context, is presented the influence of the Funda????o Rockfeler in the University of S??o Paulo, in addition to the presentation of the physician and Professor Dr. Carlos da Silva Lacaz. A study on the Museum institution is made in chapter II. Chapter III talk about how historical Museum Carlos da Silva Lacaz figure in a setting of meaningful learning. Chapter IV brings the research corpus, expose the collected dice, and presents the USP Historical Museum. as pedagogically stimulator of the construction of social knowledge in the medical area and the development of historical knowledge about the history of the profession. Also presents the conclusion that historical Museum is a "no place teaching" while the way as it is used and recognized by various traces of the institution which is part.
